Metal Prints Made Easy

Where: HD Aluminum Prints, Vancouver, WA

When: December 7, 2019, 9am – 4:30pm

OPPA, PPA , PPW, and ASMP members $159

Have you ever wanted to try metal printing but you’re reluctant because it’s a different kind of process and you don’t know what to expect? Well that’s about to change. We are fortunate in the Portland/Vancouver area to have a custom metal printing lab, HD Aluminum Prints in Vancouver. The owner, Randy has generously offered to support OPPA members by hosting this class at his production facility.

1 - 20X30 Metal Print Included with workshop Fee

Value of $151

Each registered student will receive a free 20x30 metal print – just in time for the holidays!

We will begin with a private tour of HD Aluminum Prints with owner Randy Hopfer. He’ll take us through a behind-the-scenes tour of the production process and explain how his team crafts high-quality metal prints. Then Mark Fitzgerald will take over and guide attendees through the art of color management using color profiles designed specifically for the HD Aluminum Prints process. Students will bring a few of their favorite image files to work on in class. By lunchtime each student will submit one file for test printing. Randy will make the test prints while we’re out to lunch. When we return, we will evaluate each test print and make final adjustments for 20x30 printing. Randy and his team will then produce the prints  after the workshop. Finished prints will be available for pickup later in the week at Pro Photo Supply.

  • ·         Students should bring a laptop computer with Lightroom or Photoshop on it and 3 or 4 of their favorite images to work on in class.
