Navigating High Volume Sports Photography

John Gaudette will walk us through the big volume world of team sports and event photography. He will also take us through the steps  of building a team sports business to the final steps of processing and delivering the final product.  Team sports is 180 degrees shift from high end portrait photography, although it allows the photographer to increase studio cash flow as well as studios profits, and acquire high end customers through ongoing marketing to team sports families.

About John Gaudette:

John began his photographic career when in High School as a yearbook photographer. Carrying his skills to the University of South Florida he became the personal photographer for the vice president of student affairs, photographing all student activities as well as developing a slide presentation for incoming freshman orientation.

In 1993 Photo Concepts was formed, specializing in group, event and youth sports, the company soon became one of the largest of its type in Central Florida. John was named one of the top ten photographers in Central Florida 5 years in a row. While building Photo Concepts John was enhancing his stock and travel photography. During this time John was fortunate enough to study under Galen Rowell, which helped define his vision.
When digital capture was in its early years John jumped aboard learning the skills necessary to make the conversion to the new media.
Proficient in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, and Adobe Muse, has allow John to utilize technology to create images that are out of the ordinary and web sites which are ascetically pleasing, easy to navigate and quick to load.
Selling Photo Concepts and starting Northwest Photographix, was done so John could relocate his business to the Pacific Northwest. Having moved to Portland, Oregon in August of 2009, John has brought his unique skills to Oregon.
